Monday opening days for 2 week sessions. New for 2017

We made a big decision to move opening days for all 2 week sessions to Mondays.  There were 3 main reasons for this move.

We want to add more fun stuff to the first day.  With our old schedule, by the time the campers arrive and get settled, it’s late in the afternoon.  By moving to a 11am-12:30pm opening day, we allow ourselves an entire afternoon to plan fun activities that will allow the camper’s to settle in and really get to know their cabin mates. This was our biggest reason for the change.

  1. Our staff need some time off in between sessions to really rest and get ready for a new group of campers.  Staff welfare and satisfaction is second only to camper safety and enjoyment on our list of top priorities.  We know that happy, well rested counselors will provide an even better camp experience for our campers.
  2. Traffic on Sunday afternoons has become unbearable for anyone heading back to the Bay Area. We hope Monday lunch time will be a much less stressful ride home.

We have added a free bus on Mondays for those Bay Area families who can’t make it to Kennolyn for a Monday morning drop off. The bus route is yet to be finalized but there will be three stops: San Francisco, Palo Alto, and San Jose.  We will continue to offer free airport pick up service for any campers who choose to fly.

Campers who enroll for multiple sessions will now have an extra day with us in between sessions.  We’ll still do some of the same fun activities at camp over the in between weekends but we also plan a fun day out on Sunday.
