Special Days

A session at Kennolyn Camps, Santa Cruz Mountains is made up of activity days and special days. On activity days, campers follow their chosen schedule, and special days give us chances to change things up a bit.

Thursday Thrill Day

On our last full Thursday of camp, we start the morning with Chuckwagon Breakfast. Then we mix things up with “Free Choice” activities in the morning,special food, an all-camp event in the afternoon. “Free Choice” is similar to a typical day but there are no sign ups – campers are free to roam and try activities they love or just haven’t had a chance to do. This is also a time when we try out new activities based off of camper request or counselor interest to keep things fresh and fun. After lunch, we launch the event – treasure hunts, quests, obstacle courses, relay races, and special challenges with our costumed zany staff. The day is wrapped up with an all camp dance. Themes are announced before camp start in June so you can see which theme is in your session.

Free Choice

In every session, there is at least one Free Choice morning where each camper can choose from the activities available that day. No signing up, just do what feels like fun.

Additional Special Days in All 2 Week Sessions (we hope to bring back off site trips in 2022!)

Beach

In all 2 week sessions, we head down to the beach for a day of sun, sea, sand, and hot dogs!

Boardwalk

In all 2 week sessions, we take an afternoon trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
