Kennolyn Updated FAQs
These are the most up to date FAQs regarding the current unprecedented circumstances we all find ourselves in. Don’t see your question? Speak with a Kennolyn Director!
Will Kennolyn Camps be open Summer 2020?
For campers who live in Santa Cruz County or have a parent that works or volunteers in Santa Cruz County, we have 3 sessions of Day Camp and 1 session of overnight camp. All other overnight camps in the Santa Cruz Mountains and Huntington Lake have sadly been cancelled due to the Governor’s stay at home order.
How do I get my rollover credit or my refund?
Rollovers and refunds are available by using this form. Deadline to file a claim for a refund is June 14th. After that, all funds will be credited to your account for next summer.
Are there any changes to how you will run camp?
Yes. We will share very detailed plans and give you time to adjust as needed. This will include changes to camper drop off and pick up, health related information, and of course lots more hand washing.
My camper is worried because he/she was on track for a 10 year jacket. Will they lose out if they do not attend this year?
No, although only the campers that attend will receive their camper gifts this summer, anyone that reaches 10 years when including 2020, will be granted an extra year to make it to 10.
I am in the training program. What does this mean for next year?
In the next couple of weeks you will receive an email addressing how you can fulfill the requirements for this summer. In the fall you can register, on track, for your training program session. You will not ‘held back’ a year.
I am a JC. What if this was supposed to be my last summer?
In the next couple of weeks you will receive an email addressing how you can fulfill the requirements for this summer. As long as you will be 18 by June 15, 2021 you will be eligible to apply as a Freshman Counselor.
What if I really wanted one last year as a regular camper before entering the training program?
We will not be holding kids back from progressing through the program because of a missed summer. If you would like that regular camper experience we will continue to offer a program at Huntington Lake for campers 5th-11th grades.
